Frankencake -- it's enough to make you break a good resolution

We have a winner! Congrats Lola!

Drawing's closed! Thanks for entering!

It's February 1st.

So how's that resolution coming along?

Yeah -- ours too.

By this time a lot of folks have given up on their New Year's Day promises. Rather than bemoan that fact, today we're celebrating our freedom to opt out of our resolutions with a big, fat, delicious drawing.

We're giving away a whole bunch yummy goodies you can share or -- you know -- not.

+A carnivore's delight -- $100 gift card to Central Steak in Albany.
+Sweets from Schenectady -Four pounds of chocolate from Uncle Sam's.
+Beer, beer, beer - A $50 membership to the Mug Club at Brown's
+Cheesecake in all your favorite flavors --A Frankencake from Cheesecake Machismo.
+Edible art from Crisan-- Crisan has reopened after their winter break -- $25 gift certificate.

Too much?
OK, so stop salivating on the computer and answer this question to enter the drawing:

What do you think is "just too much?"

It could be anything -- prices, hype, the number of cupcakes you've eaten today -- whatever.

We'll draw a winner at random from the entries.

Important: All comments must be submitted by 10 am Friday (February 3rd 2012) to be entered in the drawing. You must answer the question to be part of the drawing. One entry per person, please. You must enter a valid email address (that you check regularly -- seriously, if you win, we want to give you your stuff) with your comment. The winners will be notified via email by 5pm on Friday and must respond by Noon on Monday (February 6th).

I agree the price of gas. Why does it go up so fast for no reason at all? What a scam and rip off!!

I think the price of movie theater tickets are just too much. That, and the rent is too damn high.

Oh, wait. Can you ever have too much of that?

Too much sickness in my family this winter! If another person gets a cold of flu, we are not leaving the house again until summer.

The amount of stuff I have to get done in my home...which was one of my resolutions....I vowed to do a project a week, so far I have done.....0. I've done PARTS of 5 or 6 though! See my problem? I blame beer...which I'm running low on.

Ooh traffic jam got more cars and

Concert ticket prices.

The amount of dog poop on the Capital Hills golf course.

Too much money in politics

I have much too many belongings; I wish I could do more with less.

Too much government = too much in taxes!!

The Republican Primary! I like following this junk, but when it's two YEARS worth of yelling and complaining and scandal it becomes a reality tv show that's jumped the shark. (The jump the shark moment, I think, was Herman Cain expressing his desire to become the Defense Secretary).

The amount of importance placed on local "celebrities." No one's showing up to your club because a local morning DJ is doing an appearance.

(I know that sounds so bitter, but I've helped plan a lot of events, and it's so true.)

The number of people who refer to any place north of Weschester as "upstate" is JUST TOO MUCH!

My coffee consumption -- really gotta get that under control *twitch*

Too much is the amount I still rely on my car, despite my best efforts to ride a bike and take public transportation.

The Republican debates

The number of commercials for NBC's upcoming show "Smash." I mean, I think the show looks interesting? But TOO MUCH, NBC. Every commercial break, the same commercial. They're making me want to throw things at my television. It's gotten to the point I can repeat the lines back to the television, even if I'm in another room.

Too much extreme political views, worldwide.

NPR coverage of the Republican primaries takes up way too much of my commute every. single. day.

The garbage in Washington Park. Too much, people - use a trashcan! (Please.)

Negativity! Cheer up capital region, it's beautiful out today!

Too much? How much my sister thinks I want to hear about my nephew's potty-training exploits!

The number of Suzuki car dealership ads on every single radio station in Albany is way too much. I really do not care if the local dealership is #1 or #2 in the country, and helping them to become "#1" is not a reason why I would choose to buy a Suzuki.

A tie between weather forecasters who cannot give a reliable report or politicians who bash each other rather than dealing with the issues.

Too much fall and now too much spring without enough winter in between! TOO MUCH!

The price of groceries! I found a receipt for groceries in my coat pocket from 2007 and across the board the price on everything went up at the very least 25 cents and some basic, common items were $1 more. Yet sadly employers aren't always paying those cost of living raises (if any raises at all).

Visiting Florida -> TOO MUCH - negative political ads - coming to a state near you!

The amount of orthodoxy in this country is JUST TOO MUCH!

The length of time between visits with good friends is too much!

Last weekend I went out for a few cocktails at Justin's, one of my favorite joints. Well, it looked like the Jersey Shore vomited all over my normally calm, favorite place. Obnoxious Snookie and Situation wannabees were everywhere. They could not stop dropping their drinks, and there was broken glass all over the floor. One girl stumbled into me and almost knocked me over. And the screeching...oh lord. Their dresses wouldn't have even been appropriate in July. It was too much.

Other people's drama....it's just TOO much for me

The time I spent last week complaining about the time I spend in Facebook was 'just too much' :P

The cost of flights! I've had two potential trips planned and ruined by the cost of flights - to the point where I've had the flight in my cart and in an hour, the price DOUBLED. Too much. too much is how much fun i had in the warms temps today!

"Too much, or too complicated? If I'm too complicated, I can try to simplify, but if I'm just too much, well ..." This is a line delivered in a steamy voice by Morgan Fairchild from the 80s tv show, "Knot's Landing" that -- for some crazy reason -- just popped into my head after all these years, I don't know if it's worse that I'm dating myself or that I'm admitting my roommates and I watched this crappy show and found this line memorable.

The thought of the Patriots winning the Super Bowl is just too much.

Too much complaining on the Internet!

Too much...partying on St. Patty's Day

Being a grown-up is just too much. Actually, it blows.

Just too much? The obsession with the St. Patrick's Day 'parade' in the city of Albany. Just do away with it altogether, and spare us all an entire day of drunken yobs.

I've had just too much of people tacking a -y to end of the words. For example, on the design shows I like to watch, the often-used "vintage-y" is like nails on a chalkboard to my ears.

Just too much work! Seriously, I need a break. Actually, that's why I'm taking a vacation day today. :)

Many things are just too much....politics, negativities, amount of work, price of gas,...... But, if I have to pick one thing, it's going to be the chicken wing cupcake. That's just way too much!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
