What's up in the Neighborhood

The NeighborhoodAmong the topics in this most recent spin around the Capital Region's online neighborhood: the Collar City, 10 year olds at the bus stop, the train to winter, an ice castle, the Trivia Bowl, the look, a community-supported restaurant, pasta craftsmanship, a new Thai place, a roots-returning sandwich, warm celery, Clifton Park, a community store, the Giants, and the best fungus.

Carl told the story of how Troy became the Collar City, in two parts.

After watching a bunch of 10 year olds behave badly at Lark and Washington around 10 pm, Val wondered what a group of kids that age was doing out unsupervised.

Ethan took the train to winter.

Ashallann got a preview of the ice castle at the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival.

Chuck had the play-by-play of Trivia Bowl VII.

Zach had to give someone "the look" during a movie at The Spectrum.

Bennett shared some outtakes from his recent AOA posts about the Snow Train and Dyken Pond.

FiS Dan says he's joining the Elizabeth's Table community supported restaurant as a founding member. The soon-to-open Elizabeth's prompted the Idiots to call for more weird stuff in Saratoga.

Emily says the reason to go to MezzeNotte is the fresh pasta.

Rochelle checked out the new Thai restaurant in East Greenbush.

A sandwich from Fiorello's Importing in Albany took Jerry back to his roots.

Mr. Dave took on the meat sauce in his quest to create his own Capital Region-style mini dogs from scratch. Also: feel his buns.

The Ruby Tuesday at Crossgates made Daniel sad. (Warm celery will do that.)

Jen shared some scenes from the Tour de Egg Sandwich.

Randal enjoyed a buffalo chicken seitan sub from Little Anthony's.

Albaniana donated clothing to a new community store in Sheridan Hollow.

The Exiles explored the Normans Kill West Preserve in Bethlehem, which was partially formed by a landslide.

Kristi on one of the cultures that is Clifton Park.

Stephanie really loves the Giants. It's a good thing they won.

And Jackie finds the best fungus.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
