"I gave this man a sandwich and the earth moved....Whoaaaa."

Over at the From Scratch Club today, there's a good post by All Good Bakers' Britin Foster about how she met her husband, Nick. It's a sweet -- and remarkable -- story. Chance/fate/Cupid acts in strange ways. Earlier on AOA: Interesting in 2011: Britin and Nick Foster

Thanks for pointing out their site. There are some good-sounding recipes on there, especially as I try to be more conscious of what I consume.

Semi-related question: why do all the contributors go only by their first name and last initial? Writing seems to have less credence when their isn't a full name with it -- almost as if the author/authors don't take full responsibility for what they write (I mean in general, not just this case, specifically).

Or ... do some of the authors have other jobs with employers that may frown on blogging?

Hey, thanks for picking this up!

That is such a sweet and inspiring story!

Kristi,

Thanks for the positive feedback! To answer your question, all of the contributor's last names & additional information (such as where else to find them- either jobs or personal blogs) are on our "who we are" page (under the "about" heading top left corner).

We kept our author names short for simplicity's sake. We are not intentionally hiding our identities. We are very much out in the public landscape, doing monthly farmers market (Delmar, Troy or Saratoga) with cooking demonstrations and we also host two food swaps a month (one in Albany & one in Saratoga Springs) that most of the group members are involved in & attend. So there are plenty of changes to not only meet us, but also to find us in our other settings (for instance I am Kilpatrick Family Farm's CSA Coordinator, so I work the Toga Farmers Market every Saturday).

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
