Tickets for the WCDB music festival

wcdb anniversary festival 2012Contest's closed! Winner's been emailed!

UAlbany radio station WCDB is celebrating its 34th anniversary this weekend with a two-day music festival at Valentine's. Fourteen acts -- both national and local -- will be playing over the course of Friday and Saturday. It should be a good time.

We have a pair of weekend passes for the festival -- and we're giving them away, perhaps to you. To enter the drawing, please answer this question in the comments:

What's your favorite song?

We'll pick one winner at random.

Tickets for the WCDB festival are $25 for a weekend pass, and $12 for Friday only and $18 for Saturday only at the door.

The lineup for the festival is after the jump. A few of the names you'll probably recongize: Titus Andronicus, Avi Buffalo, Barons in the Attic, The Parlor, Sgt Dunbar and the Hobo Banned, Matthew Carefully, and a bunch more.

Important: All comments must be submitted by noon on Tuesday (February 28, 2012) to be entered in the drawing. You must answer the question to be part of the drawing. One entry per person, please. You must enter a valid email address (that you check regularly -- it makes us awfully cranky if people don't respond when they've won a drawing ) with your comment. The winner will be notified via email by 5 pm on Tuesday and must respond noon on Wednesday (February 29).

Comments

Pink Floyd - Us And Them

Perry Como - Catch a Falling Star

... ;-))

"Your Mother Should Know" by The Beatles, if I have to pick one right now.

Third Eye Blind - Wake for Young Souls

iTunes says "My Life Ain't Easy" by the Equals is my number one jam, and I won't argue with it. If I had to sit and think about which one of thousands is the best, I'd change my mind in ten minutes.

Also, can I just say how awesome it is to have the Neighborhoods back in Albany? They were an 80s staple in the local scene, but I was a kid who had no money back then.

Teen Age Riot - Sonic Youth

Two-Headed Boy, Pt. 2 - Neutral Milk Hotel

At this precise moment, let's say "New York" by Snow Patrol, but I'm having a peaceful evening and it may change several times in the next few minutes!

Lady in Red

Cosmic Dancer - T. Rex

I appreciate when someone who uses the same (admittedly unoriginal) moniker as me has some good taste.

I would have gone with some LCD Soundsystem or something though.

Let's Active - every word means no

A tough one. Gonna go for "Too Long / Steam Machine" by Daft Punk on Alive 2007. There. A really bad song if you have road rage.
(what, no Radiohead, B?!)

"Or something", which appears to be available as a band name.

Olivia Newton John - If you love me let me go

Currently: Tear down the Coastline - The Parlor

Depeche Mode - Halo

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
