This American Life Live

The public radio show This American Life will be broadcasting a live video feed of the show to theaters around the country on May 10. The Regal at Crossgates is one of those theaters.

From the blurbage:

The show will feature stories by Ira Glass, writer David Rakoff, comic Tig Notaro and Snap Judgment host Glynn Washington, plus live music by OK Go. It'll also include things you could never do on the radio, like a new short film by Mike Birbiglia, dance by Monica Bill Barnes & Company, original animation, projected illustration and more. Plus special surprise guests.

The show starts at 8 pm (May 10 is a Thursday). Tickets are $20.

This was money well spent.
Dance, interactive music, video, comedy. What a night!
I heard some movie theaters will be playing the recording of this on Tuesday the 15th, but not sure if that's happening in our area.

Another fun thing... Sarah LaDuke from WAMC was one of 10 winners they announced live on the show. She was at the Mahweh theater. All of us in the Crossgates theater sort of gasped when they read her name. Her twitter feed today confirms she was a winner.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
