Siena awarding Derek Jeter an honorary degree
Siena College will be awarding Derek Jeter an honorary degree at its commencement May 13 in recognition of Jeter's charitable org. Yep, the Yanks are playing that day. So, no, Jeter will not be at Siena's graduation to pick up the degree. The college says Jeter's sister -- who heads up the Turn 2 Foundation -- will be accepting on his behalf. (Maybe he'll still send the school a gift basket.)
