So long, Suero
UAlbany announced today that star basketball player Gerardo Suero is leaving early to enter the NBA draft. The junior guard was the Great Danes' leading scorer last year (by a lot) at 21.5/game -- and he was the 7th leading scorer in country. Suero was also a lot of fun to watch, slashing and crashing through opponents defenses (he put up 31 against Syracuse). An early jump to the NBA is a stretch, but Suero is already 23 -- the clock's ticking on a pro career. Also: UAlbany announced that Logan Aronhalt, its second leading scorer, is also leaving -- so he can attend a school with a master's program in kinesiology. [UAlbany]

Sorry to see them go. Loved watching Logan and loved watching G, for different reasons and for the different skill sets they brought to the game. Can understand Logan going because of his physical problems. Don't think G is good enough for the NBA, but he is probably good enough to play pro ball someplace. I don't think he had much to gain by staying in Albany, especially given his age, so I understand his leaving, too. Wishing them both all the best and every success. They were a lot of fun to watch!
