The week ahead

Comic monologist Mike Birbiglia is at The Egg this week.

Here are a few things to keep in mind, look forward to, or keep busy with this week, from the weather (May-ish), to Bond, to Birbiglia, to cooking, to extinct parrots, to what happens when we're under, to Final Cut, to all sorts of music...

Weather

Here's the paraphrased forecast:

Monday: Sunny and low 60s.
Tuesday: Rainy and 60.
Wednesday: Sunny and 72.
Thursday: Cloudy, but 75.
Friday: Sunnier, mid 70s.
Weekend: Sunny and about 70.

Typical.

May

It starts this week. In much of Europe, May 1 (or thereabout) is a holiday, with maypoles and whatnot. In the United States, it's... Tuesday. In Mexico, May 5 is a regional holiday celebrating an unlikely victory by the Mexican army over the French in 1862. In the United States, it's... largely an excuse to drink to a lot of margaritas.

My Girlfriend's Boyfriend

Mike Birbiglia's comic one-man show about a "lifetime of romantic blunders and miscues that most adults would spend a lifetime trying to forget" is at The Egg on Tuesday Wednesday. No disrespect to WCDB, but as an alternative for the public radio set, Sarah LaDuke's interview with Mike Birbiglia on WAMC's The Round Table also aired last week:

Wow - my hometown's celebrity, Suzy Bogguss. Very cool if you dig country.
