What's up in the Neighborhood

The NeighborhoodAmong the topics in this most recent spin around the Capital Region's online neighborhood: ShopRite ShopRite ShopRite ShopRite, the trail of the sun, a place for active people, no-smoking designations, Pillar Rock, baby animals, a love letter to DeFazio's, Burger Centric, wings in Clifton Park, a knife, treasures in the attic, violet season, and the reason for getting into a boxing ring.

After visiting the new Albany ShopRite, Val says she's sticking with Hannaford. Christine says she's "genuinely" excited about the new store. Albany Jane sampled food at the store. And Kristi wondered about the appeal of ShopRite.

The Idiots say the new Price Chopper in downtown Saratoga is... a Price Chopper.

Chuck took a beautiful multiple exposure photo of the sun rising over the Hudson.

If she were mayor, Silvia says she would "promote the hell out of Albany as a place for active people to live."

The "clean air" (that is, no smoking) designations at various campuses around the area burned Ned.

MPF and her neighbors noticed that Pillar Rock at Thacher Park is no more.

It sounds like Emily had a fun time checking out the baby animals at Hancock Shaker Village.

Albaniana got to visit with five-day-old goats at Indian Ladder Farm.

Jessica wrote a love letter to DeFazio's.

Jerry had a somewhat mixed -- though, ultimately, good -- experience at Burger Centric.

The Gastrothugs say the Ravenswood in Clifton Park has the "best wings north of Troy."

Randal got a suit for $20. (And he checked out the new Fuzz Records on Lark Street.)

Rob pulled out a knife at his Weight Watchers meeting.

Akum unearthed treasures in her attic.

Jackie tried to keep up with violet season in Saratoga.

And Kevin is entered in a boxing match in Saratoga -- he explained why.

If it hadn't been for Greg sending me that picture in the first place, I might never have tried that sun trails photo. So much thanks all around to AOA!

Thank you for the link to that baby animal post. Rumor was they had cows, pigs AND sheep and I was hoping to get out there. Glad I can read a first-person account.
