PJ's back open -- and different

As long as they have the Logenberry soda, I will return for that and the great mac salad and BBQ!

This makes me so sad. :(

I mean, sure, the chicken's still gonna taste good. But we've lost a beloved local tradition. The opening of PJ's has always been a special, SEASONAL event, just like the opening of Jumpin' Jack's (or whatever other seasonal joint you love most).

Opening day at PJ's is a sign that summer is officially here, and one of the best things about summertime in Saratoga is driving by PJ's and rolling down the windows to smell the chicken cooking. Every year, people would flock there for a summertime treat, a dining event, as fleeting and precious as summer itself.

And now, all of that's gone. It'll be just another barbecue joint, open all year, ho-hum. It just won't be the same -- it won't be a special summer place anymore, and that makes me really, really sad. :(

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
