What's up in the Neighborhood

The NeighborhoodAmong the topics in this most recent spin around the Capital Region's online neighborhood: not donating, Upstate New York Bucket List, the crazy woman shouting, ramps, a Saratoga food tour, Mother's Day, fried chicken, voting, customer service, and therapy.

Matt chose not to donate to a church cause because of its stance against gay marriage.

Katelyn added a bunch of new items to her Upstate New York Bucket List.

Kevin got his ass kicked -- but had fun.

That crazy woman shouting "Crosswalk!" is probably Silvia.

It sounds like a Gastrothug had a good time at the Hudson Valley Ramp Fest in Hudson.

The Idiots offered more 20-word reviews.

Steve shared food photos from the Chef Challenge in Saratoga.

Jen went on a Saratoga Springs Food Tour.

Jerry had what sounds like an uneven meal at Villa Valenti in Wynantskill.

Emily went to Mother's Day brunch at New World -- without a mom.

Ned also went to New World -- with his mom -- and had "the best thing that I had put in my mouth in a long time."

Ethan enjoyed the fried chicken at the Gastropub in Albany.

Albaniana's son voted yesterday -- even though he's not a US citizen.

Kristi got some good customer service.

Chuck was victorious.

And Daniel shared how his mom -- and therapy -- have led him to write about food.

I love you guys :)

I'm with Katelyn.

It seems like all people do is eat and blog about it. Can we get more links to folks doing something else?

The internet food critic to restaurant ratio in this town is TOO DAMN HIGH!

Bloggers around here only get a sense of community if they write about food. Sometimes about dogs. I wrote about taking my dog to Chipotle once and man, that post got a lot of traffic.

Some of the only blogs I read in this weekly wrap-up are the foodie ones. A lot of the other ones just cannot capture my attention.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

I wish his opponent ... had provided more detailed background in his candidate statement regarding his credentials beyond his family's love of he library and his professional work as an environmental scientist. However, there were no swastikas so I'm voting for the candidate without swastikas.
