That's fast
Mamitu Daska from Ethiopia won the Freihofer's Run for Women 5k this past weekend with a time of 15:19.1 -- 17 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. To put Daska's time in some perspective: she ran the 3.12 mile course at an average pace of more than 12 miles per hour -- or 4 minute 55 second miles. That's probably a bit faster than your morning jog.

That's about as fast as I run behind the ice cream truck.

Easy there Ike, aka the Generalizer Bunny. One article lumping every participatory jogger in with those who specifically run ULTRAmarathons, multiple marathons and ironman triathlons hardly leads to any definite conclusions.
You might even say that jumping to such fast conclusions is "more terrible" for your mental health than running marathons are to your physical health! :)
