My Exit: Tasha Davis

My Exit Tasha Davis

My Exit DJ Tasha Davis has collected some of her local favs for tonight's My Exit

It's Monday, which means WEXT is running another My Exit show -- where the listeners get to pick their own playlists.

Here's a look at what's coming up tonight:

Tasha Davis. I'm from Albany and attend UAlbany with the hopes of getting my BA in Communication. I am a DJ for the UAlbany radio station, play rugby, and am planning on working in the music industry.

How would you describe your taste in music?
There are very few genres of music that I don't like and I will give a listen to anything. You'll find everything from Ingrid Michaelson to Atreyu to the Rent soundtrack on my iPod. I am a huge supporter and fan of local music and I have plenty of local bands in my music collection as well.

About 5 songs from your show:
All of the songs that I played were from local musicians, to share my passion of the local arts.

"Paul's Jam" by Uncle Joel's Comb
This band is my favorite ska band from the Albany area. Every time I see these guys perform I have an amazing time. Everyone is up and dancing and this song always gets everyone moving! I can't help but to dance along when I hear this song.

"What We're Made Of (Batter Up!)" by The Summer Switch
This band is one of the most talented bands in the 518 in my opinion. This song is really upbeat but the lyrics are pretty serious. We've all been in a place where you might have wanted to take something back you've done and this song encompasses that perfectly for me in all aspects.

"Every Gollum Needs a Smeagol" by I Was A Hero
I love this band because they are so fantastic live. They engage the audience in such an amazing way and have very loyal fans. I love this song because they talk about a bunch of things that have happened to them in real life and that makes them so much more relate-able as a band, and really, who doesn't wanna just tell someone to "shut up" sometimes?

"A Song for Sherea" by Heroes and Martyrs
I love this song because very rarely does this band allow the female vocalist sing lead parts, but she does so in this song. I love the vibe she is able to create.

You can hear Tasha's My Exit show Monday night at 8 pm on 97.7 or at

Here's how to schedule your own My Exit show on WEXT.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
