Tickets for beer dinner at Central Steak

central steak exterior

Update: Drawing's closed! The winner's been emailed!

If you'd still like to suggest a local pairing, go for it -- you just won't be entered in the drawing.

Central Steak has a special five-course dinner paired with Sam Adams beers coming up June 28. We have a pair of tickets to the beer dinner, and we're giving them away. Maybe to you.

To enter the drawing, please answer this question:

What are two things in the Capital Region that would pair together well?

Example: Saratoga Springs' downtown paired with Troy's waterfront. Or whatever -- there are a lot of possibilities. Don't think too hard, it should be fun.

We'll draw one comment at random. That person will get the tickets.

The Sam Adams beer dinner at Central Steak starts at 6:30 pm on June 28 (a Thursday). Tickets are $50 -- reservations are available with a credit card by calling 456-1653. We hear the dinner is already more than half sold out.

The menu is after the jump.

Important: All comments must be submitted by noon on Tuesday (June 19, 2012) to be entered in the drawing. You must answer the question to be entered in the drawing. One entry per person, please. You must enter a valid email address (that you check regularly) with your comment (seriously, we want to give you the tickets). The winner will be notified via email by 5 pm on Tuesday and must respond by noon on Wednesday (June 20, 2012).

Troy's Dinosaur BBQ and Thatcher Park :)
Great food with a great view!

I'd say fried pickles from Wollf's Biergarten would pair perfectly with a Kilkenny beer, which they serve at Stout. You could sit in the middle of Broadway between the two places and indulge...

The restaurants in downtown Albany where my old office was with my new office in Corporate Woods - it's a beautiful park but there are no food options!

Downtown Troy + Albany.

Downtown Troy is a rich and inviting place- it's a shame that so much of it is empty. Downtown Albany has a lot to offer but it's pinched between the Plaza and Sheridan Hollow. If only the center of Troy could be fitted in someplace, maybe on Central Ave within an easy walk of the old SUNY campus and Washington Park.

Mozzarella Sticks and Raspberry sauce, and Pump Station Kickass Brown

Schenectady's downtown State St(surrounding Proctors Theater) backed by the Lake George waterfront

UAlbany's campus and an episode of "World's Ugliest Architecture"

Joe Bruno Stadium and Downtown Troy along the waterfront

The Rose Garden of Schenectady paired with The Egg in Albany... a beautiful landscape and a fantastic performance venue would be amazing!

The Egg + Thacher Park = Interesting architecture and a great view!

Thursday nights : Alive at 5 and then the new Thursday night swing dance at Jillian's (lesson included). It can be inexpensive and healthy depending on how much you are drinking...

Albany's Lark Street but against the Hudson. Awesome bar patios over the water would be wonderful.

The AquaDucks and a food tour of the different areas of the capital district (although, the tour service doesn't exist to my knowledge)

The beer selection of Savannahs + the friendly bartenders of Oh Bar.

my gorgeous apartment is missing from the Mansion District or the Ten Eyck Triangle

SPAC & SUNY

SPAC with Lake George's Million Dollar Beach - listening to great music while lying on the beach and cooling off in Lake George

My own backyard with Grafton Lake beachfront...and Sam Adams, which I am going to be drinking when I get home.

Oooh, the authentic mexican food of La Mexicana Grocery on State St with the patio of El Mariachi on Hamilton!

work at the troy bike rescue , followed by ice cream at snow man!

Downtown Albany's lunch trucks with Saratoga's Yaddo.

More good, locally-produced beer, wine and spirits available well, everywhere, but particularly in Schenectady.

The Mediterranean Wrap from Iron Gate Cafe + any of the pisco drinks they make at 677 Prime...perfect summertime delight.

Cheesecake Machismo + Guilderland

A pint of Brown's Brewing Co. IPA with a (toss up between) Greek Burger from Gus's Hot Dog or a cheese pizza from Kay's on Burden Lake!

A bar like Wolff's or the City Beer Hall and Saratoga Springs. It would be nice to have a good beer bar with ample seating and a fun atmosphere.

Waterford waterfront and Latham.

Tara Kitchen in Schenectady with a view of the river. Sadly, it's not on the water, but has fantastic food.

"The Joe" on the HVCC campus and the central warehouse along 787...where it should have been built!

The coffee of Cafe Vero + the diner food of Dewey's.

DeFazios four seasons pizza with wings from the Ruck. Both in Troy.

Schenectady's Proctors Theatre with downtown Troy! Oh, how I wish ours was operating and not just crumbling away...

The people from Lansingburgh should be relocated to Loudonville, they deserve it!

Caffe Lena of Saratoga and The Old English Pub of Albany. Delicious beer and great folk art!

Maple Ridge Ski Resort on the mountain that looms behind Troy!

How convenient would that be?!?!

An Italian mix from Andy's Imports and a Summer Park Playhouse show at Washington park.

A beautiful historic building at risk of decay and demolition, and a revenue generating business willing to invest in it's restoration.

The Bethlehem Dog Park in Troy. I don't know of any places nearby in Troy where I can take my dog to play with other dogs.

A Troy pairing that dreams are made of: Throwing tires at Collar City Crossfit, followed immediately by a huge sundae from Snow Man in Lansingburgh!

Keep it simple...Guiness and Vanilla Bean ice cream float!

Light rail that connects Saratoga to Albany. And then some.

Kurver Kreme and The Crossings. Great ice cream and a place right there to walk all those calories off :)

The City Beer Hall and my house

or

The State Legislature and the bottom of the Hudson

Broadway Bicycle Co. + Cyclists of the Capital Region.

The Wine Bar on Lark and a parking lot.

Q-Ben from Capital Q and Brown's beer.

The cask ales from Mahar's at "It Came from Schenectady" movie series. Great beer and awesome movies, I would live there.

What pairs together well? AOA Greg and AOA Mary, of course!

Take all the bars down in broadway in Albany (Matt's bars, Stout, etc) and add them to Lark Street, but place it all on the waterfront. Perfect!

Browns IPA + grass fed burgers from Farmie Market on my grill.

The Megabus station and the huge empty lot at Crossgates where the old Macy's used to be

Me & the chocolate ice cream from Kurver Kreme!
A match made in heaven!

Albany’s water front and The Standard Restaurant and Lounge

Crisan's gelato and a walk in Washington Park

a thacher park waterfall, and the patio and food from the wine bar and bistro.

The architecture and sense of place of The Stockade and the emptiness of the Harriman Campus.

With all the beautiful outdoor weather we've been having, I have to go with Shake shack and Washington Park - I'd love to enjoy a Shake Shack burger and a milkshake in the shadow of Moses...

My birthday and Wolff's.

I would say that the deck at Lanie's should be coupled with the Albany Riverfront Park. There aren't enough restaurants with decks that have nice views.

The Latham Circle Mall with..... anything. Please! Anything!

A DIY combo I've done more than once: subs from Andy's at the Saratoga racetrack.

the quality of the New World Bistro and the proximity to my home of all the crappy restaurants in Bethlehem

The food of DeFazio's in Troy with the atmosphere of The Wine Bar on Lark.

Starbucks and my daughters delicious cupcakes

Valley Cats Baseball and Price Chopper Fireworks!!!

drinks on the barge and a walk on the bike trail

Me and the tickets.

Indulging in Coccadott's cupcakes after a long hike around the beautiful and challenging Plotterkill Reserve!

Kevin Bacon performs at the Egg
