We have entered county fair season in the Capital Region. It started with the Saratoga County Fair wrapped this past weekend, and there are a bunch still ahead.

Here's a rundown. Remember: a fair is best enjoyed while eating some sort of food on a stick.

Schoharie County Sunshine Fair
When: July 27-August 4
Where: Cobleskill
How much:
$12 for adults, $10 for seniors and free for children 12 and under.
3-day passes are available at $30 for one adult (after July 26).

Altamont Fair
When: August 14-19
Where: Altamont Fairgrounds
How Much: $15. Save $1 when you buy your ticket online ahead. It's free for kids under 36 inches tall.

Washington County Fair
When: August 20-26
Where: Washington County Fairgrounds, Greenwich
How much:
Adults $10 ($9 before August 1). Children under 14 are free. All-week pass is $30 ($27 before August 1).

Fonda Fair
When: August 28-September 3
Where: Montgomery County Fairgrounds Route 30A in Fonda
How much:

Columbia County Fair
When: August 29-September 3
Where: Chatham
How much:
Adults $10 (Sunday is $12). It's $8 every day if purchased before August 29.
Under 12 - free.

Schaghticoke Fair
When: August 29-September 3
Where:
Schaghticoke Fairgrounds
How much:
Adults $10, $11 Saturday-Monday. Opening Day is $5.
Children under 13 - free.
Discounted advance tickets are available at Price Chopper.
