Duck on a truck

aqua duck on truck

Q: How does an Aqua Duck fly south to its new home.

A: See above.

The ducks were loaded onto trucks this week to make the trip to their home in Florida.

We're kind of sad that they aren't traveling there on their own power. That scenario kind of sounds like an indie comedy. One man. One amphibious vehicle. 2000 miles...

This is just too sad! I don't know why they couldn't have stuck it out and stayed in town. It was a neat thing that got taken away from us much too soon and I really wish different problem solving had taken place, different decisions had been made, really wish someone local had bought the enterprise or given the owners a little help maybe. But then, how much of it was that they just gave up? This is SAD!! BYE DUCKS!!!

Same here. After all, if Ben Carlin could travel around the world in an amphibious vehicle (http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2011/03/02/ambitious-amphibious-ben-carlins-round-the-world-trek-in-a-ford-gpa/), these can at least get to Florida.

I agree with Cary. And I too sort of wonder if they owners just gave up, unjustly, or if they were having a really hard time and got no help? Anyway, I think it's a huge loss and they really should have stuck out the full season for us. Unfair. But c'est la vie, I guess.

Cary and Wendy.... did you have any reservations in place to take a tour before the announcement to close this summer? If I were a betting person, I'd say not.... like me. Don't be too critical of the owners, they have a right to enjoy the rest of their lives relatively debt free, rather than keep a losing money type of business open just for the "charm". Paying salaries and benefits to their employees takes a LOT of income.... that can't be recouped by raising prices to the point that no one takes the tour any longer. I am just glad that the owners got out of the business before having to declare bankrupcy.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
