That's him.

Sean Rowe is playing a show at Valentine's September 8. It's an album release show for The Salesman and the Shark (which will be out August 28). Railbird is the opener. Tickets are $10 -- they're on sale now (and, we're guessing, are headed toward a sell out).

It's kind of amazing how things have turned out for Sean Rowe. He's been kicking around for a long time -- and we remember seeing him play for a handful of people at a free public show just a few years back at Now he's touring Europe, playing posh spaces in Manhattan, getting highlighted by NPR, and being profiled by the Wall Street Journal. Good for him.

Hey, isn't that that also Rest Fest weekend? It is. And the full lineup for Rest Fest is due out this Tuesday.

What a sad case. It's very difficult to find a developer with the resources, vision, and commitment to take on a costly and risky project like St. Joe's. It's a shame that the hidebound conservatism of the neighborhood stymied the first and only realistic, pragmatic, and frankly very cool, project to come along in many years. I hope the church and the neighborhood gets one more shot, although I'm not optimistic.
