New location for Pass It On Sale

Pass It On SaleThe bi-annual (and very popular) Pass It On Sale for kids stuff is coming up August 24-26. And it's at a new location: the Sportsplex in Halfmoon (its usual spot had been the Albany Academy field house). The consignment sale's website says the new location is double the space and has air conditioning (good thing -- the shopping can get intense). If you're looking for kids stuff, there are usually some good bargains at the sale.

Could they pick a more inconvenient location for the lower income families that can most benefit by the sale? Or are they deliberately trying to make it more attractive to upper income suburbanites who can spend more money than the urban folks?

From her announcement, it appears as though the venue change was certainly last minute and not an attempt to disenfranchise folks.

I'm looking forward to the air conditioning. Its often brutal in August, especially when check-out lines are 30+ minutes.

I'd have liked the sale to stay in Albany, but I don't understand why so many of the people unhappy about the move seem to think low income families are only to be found in city centers. Tough times are everywhere, especially in the current economy.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
