New name for Schenectady Museum
The Schenectady Museum is now called miSci.
miSci = Museum of Innovation and Science
It's pronounced "my-sigh."
The museum has been changing things up this year. In February it ousted its executive director. And it's been focused on bringing in new interactive exhibits, including a series of visiting exhibits from the Exploratorium in San Francisco. The first of those exhibits will open in October.

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

I've found this place a remarkable disappointment on several visits, so this is good. The main difference between their exhibits and those at the Exploratorium is that the latter are in working order, so hopefully the new director will hire a few technical staff people. Also, how about bringing up some of those amazing GE artifacts from the storerooms?
