You are not lacking music options on September 8

Crowded.

The schedule is out for this year's "Local Legends Live" music day at the Empire State Plaza on September 8. The slate is headlined by the previously announced Mike Doughty. The rest of the slate: Eastbound Jesus, John Brodeur and Charmboy, Karma's Army, The Chronicles, Catching Cadence, and Happy Birthday Dr. Jim. It runs from 2-8 pm. It's free.

You might be thinking, "Hey, isn't there something else that day?" You are correct! A few times over. And all within a mile-or-so radius. Also on September 8:

+ The Restoration Festival is at St. Joe's -- Saturday's slate includes Sharon Von Etten, Mount Eerie, Hop Along, Sgt. Dunbar, Goldtooth, Dryer, Careers, and Barons in the Attic. 1:15 pm - whenever (last act is scheduled for 9:30 pm) - weekend passes are currently $40, Saturday only is $30

+ The Riverfront Jazz Festival is at the Corning Preserve that day. noon-9 pm - free

+ And Sean Rowe is playing at Valentine's that night to celebrate the release of his new album, The Salesman and the Shark. Railbird opens. 7 pm - $10

So, this day probably won't be enshrined in the Coordination Hall of Fame. But you can't say you're lacking options. And, as pointed out recently, that's not a bad problem.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
