Noted: There are 500,000 licensed drivers in New York State over the age of 80. They make up 4.5 percent of all license drivers and were involved in two percent of accidents statewide in 2010. The AP has a big story about older drivers -- it notes that when measured by miles driven, the crash rate rises for people in their 70s and there's a sharp jump at age 80.
