Food and Drink

+Classe Catering can cater your holiday party. You can find their holiday catering specials here.

+Capital City Gastropub has some great Sunday through Thursday specials like $9 pizzas and $3 select drafts Sunday through Tuesday, Half-price burgers all night on Wednesday and $9 pizzas and $3 select drafts from 5 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday through Friday. Every Friday select microbrews are just $2. Specials this weekend include:

-Stillwater Farms cast iron seared pork loin over a sweet potato puree, Wertman Farms kale with preserved lemon and prosciutto di parma chip, Tilly Farms beef tongue agro dolce, Yonder Farms apples, Berlin's Best kale pesto, local micro greens, pickled mustard seeds

-Beet Tartare topped with a local raw egg yolk with house made chips and black garlic

-Burger Farms Romanesco broccoli, house made papardelle pasta with a tomato cardamom cream sauce topped with Grana Padano and bread crumbs

-Also serving Sunday Brunch.

+ The fall menu at The Wine Bar and Bistro on Lark includes yumminess like grilled short ribs au poivre with balsamic and mushroom confit and mussels in lobster broth with white wine and applewood bacon. Nom.

+ The Schenectady Greenmarket has moved indoors to Proctors for the winter season. Sundays from 10am to 2pm.

+New World Bistro Bar stellar specials this weekend include Fall Spiced Porkbelly Confit Taco with a brussels sprout slaw, local apple and a coriander crema. Bluepoint oysters abound and they're roasting those with a quinoa and speck stuffing for an awesome app. They're also spicing things up with Dogfish Au Poivre finished in a sherry-pepper cream sauce or our Latin Steak Frites with yucca 'tots' and a charred tomatillo cream sauce. They're also open every Sunday for brunch from11-3.

+ The folks at City Beer Hall are now doing Saturday and Sunday brunch starting at 11AM.

+ Our Daily Eats -- serving up fresh basil pesto, roasted nuts and seeds. They also have four granolas. Available at the Delmar Farmers Market, Schenectady Greenmarket and the Empire State Plaza Wednesday Farmers Market. Local retailers are listed on their website.

+ Capital Wine on State and Lark in Albany. They've got tastings every Friday night, so stop by on your way out to dinner. And they've got great tips on wine and food pairings.

+ Honest Weight Food Coop has all the best flavors of the season.

Stuff to do

+The Breathing Room yoga space, classes in yoga, dance, pilates and more 399 Kenwood Ave Delmar.

+ The Mop and Bucket Improv Company -- where making stuff up isn't lying, it's a gift for fiction. Every Friday at 8pm Underground at Proctors. Shows are based on audience suggestions, so every week there's something fresh and fun.

+Troy Savings Bank Music Hall presents Bruce Hornsby (sans Range) Saturday night at 8.

+ The Hellions of Troy Roller Derby Herculadies will face the Battery Brigade on Saturday, November 10 at Rollarama in Schenectady. Doors open at 7pm. Bout at 8pm.

+ The Albany All Stars start their new roller derby season on January 19th.

+The Aids Council of Northeastern New York's Beaujolais Nouveau wine tasting event, November 15th at Troy's Hilton Garden Inn.
