Albany mayor's office on Twitter

Now on Twitter: Jerry Jennings' office -- @AlbanyCityHall. (For real.) First public request met via the service (apparently): sidewalk around a park shoveled.

Welcome to 2013?

His tweets seem to emit this orange/tan glow....

Do you think it will be Jennings himself who will tweet? Do you think Jer will take a blanket & a space heater to an elderly resident without heat like Cory Booker recently did based on a twitter request?

I tweeted a request for garbage pickup in my neighborhood park, and ol' JJ had it done the same day. Overall, I am pleased with this new setup, though fake Jerry Jennings' tweets were funnier.

Tried them out yesterday on my bike. It felt SO much safer than the rest of Madison. And guess what? Where it's 4 lanes, I had to take up a whole lane anyway because there is not enough space. This will definitely encourage others to ride bikes. And I have not seen any additional traffic. It's astonishing that in 2016 Albany still only has 2 bike lanes. We need lots more!
