Taste listed for sale

Currently listed for sale: Taste, the downtown Albany restaurant. From the listing: "Offering four distinct profit centers including the Bar, Restaurant with large patio (Seating Capacity - 52 restaurant, 40 bar, 125 patio), lobby kiosk, and the penthouse meeting and banquet facility (Seating capacity - 400 including rooftop deck for 300) with amazing views of the Albany skyline."

List price: $450,000.

As you might remember, this is the restaurant that started as Dale Miller and switched names in 2011 after the chef and the owners parted ways.

Update: Steve Barnes spoke with one of the owners, who said that any sale would require that gift cards or other commitments be met.

(Thanks, Elisabeth)

Taste has advertised with AOA in the past.

Comments

Wow, just today there is a Groupon for Taste! Maybe I'll hold off on that one...

Jessica R: For what it's worth, it seems to take a long time to sell something like this. And presumably whoever bought it would want to continue as a restaurant there. So there probably isn't much risk in buying the deal.

Update: See Steve Barnes' post.

When Stephanie's on the Park changed ownership they would not accept the previous owners coupons and eventually changed their name.

I found Trevin Peterson through an All Over Albany recommendation about 2 years ago. ... His quotes were better detailed than other contractors. This spring, the job scope actually grew considerably since I decided this contractor was capable of replaceing 40 year old deteriorating retaining walls with architectural block here at my hillside home, along with an old side entrance deck supported by rotting cantilevered joists. Everything came out looking very professionally well done. He is partnered now with a master carpenter Chris Urba, and the company is now called Built By Design ... They will not be your cheapest quote, but if you want expert work they have the experience.
