"The Genius of America"

It's an impressive work -- it's also one that's best taken with its historical context in mind. Toward that end, NYSED has built a mini-site for the mural, and posted an interactive version of the work. Also: there's a large format, zoomable version. [TU]

I just spent two hours learning all the facinating things about this thanks to your posting. Guess I'm gonna have to stay late tonight at work to make up for it.
