California butter
A recent Times Union article by Kristen Brown, about New York dairy farmers facing competition from California dairy farmers and that state's milk pricing system, addresses a question that came up recently: Why does Price Chopper-brand butter carry "Real California Milk" seal?

I noticed the California labels a couple months ago and promptly informed PC's customer service folks that I wasn't about to spend money for the diesel fuel it costs to bring in California butter when there are local farms in need of the income.
I also noted at the same time that Price Chopper is no longer carrying Cabot's Unsalted Butter. As a result, I no longer buy any butter at PC and generally do less shopping there than at Hannaford.
