"If it had happened with somebody else like this it would have been sad, but with Norm it wasn't. It was just so much like Norm."

Sign posted at a funeral in Cambridge this past weekend: "Surprise -- It's a double header -- Gwen and Norman Hendrickson -- Feb. 16, 2013." As the Post Star's Meg Hagerty reports, Norman Hendricks, 94 years old, died on the way to his wife's funeral -- and his family had his body placed in a casket at the funeral alongside his wife's ashes. That story just blows me away. True love, plain and simple. So beautiful. I hope they are holding hands in heaven.

What a sweet, tear-jerking, story. I hope we're all that lucky.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. For print resolution, not-for-profit Albany-specific historic images (photos. prints, paintings and advertising) Dave's best bet would be the Albany Institute's website. They have a collections database of thousands of images to choose from, and depending on the size, reproductions can be made in a price range of $15 to $55 dollars.
