The view from Rensselaer
Look at Rennselaer with all the suitors. Mayor Dan Dwyer told a chamber of commerce group today that the city's port is in line for a possible $600 million project. And there's also possibly something happening on the long-planned de Laet's Landing mixed-use waterfront project -- Dwyer on the configuration of a possible hotel/condo project: "I don't know which way it's going to go, I just want a restaurant on top." (And who wouldn't?) [TU] [Biz Review]

Related to the east side of the river, AOA may want to check in with their Troy constituents. Apparently many Troy property owners were hit with major increases in their assessments and will be paying thousands of dollars more in taxes as part of that reassessment. Some real anger among those who feel they are being "punished" (my word, no one else) for their investments and commitments to Troy.
