Capitol photo tour

The New York Times posted a nice large-format photo tour of the state Capitol over the weekend (many of the photos are by Nathaniel Brooks). If you haven't been through Capitol recently, it's worth a stop -- the renovations have the place looking rather sharp.

...if you're unemployed as the Capitol is only open during business hours.

Not true! The building is open from 7 am to 7 pm. There are new exhibits all over to make for an easy self-guided experience or you can download the Audio Guide at www.empirestateplaza.org

I had given up on seeing the Capitol too, because of the limited hours they offer tours - 10-3 weekdays. Maeve- you're saying you can have your own 'self-guided tour' at any time until 7pm? Can you still access the assembly staircase?

Also, the site you link to says the building is open to the public Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

I knew I gave up for a reason. ;)

The Scoop
