Planning for the end
Albany Law's Health Law Clinic will be offering free help with healthcare proxies and living wills on Wednesday, April 17, from 6-8 pm. It's one of those things nobody really wants to think about -- and never expects to use -- until it's needed. (Yeah, that's kind of morbid, but unfortunately sometimes that's life.) A group of law students will be providing the assistance under the supervision of local attorneys.
ALS advertises on AOA.

Also, durable power of attorney is in the same 'not-dead-yet' planning category. You don't know you need it until you need it.

Make sure to discuss these things with your loved ones, as well. They're not going to go rummaging through your box of Important Papers before rushing to your bedside in the case of an illness or accident unless they've been told to.
