For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

I was there with my toddler as they were turning them on- so fun! Perfect day at Buckingham Pond for a 2 year old: playground, ducks, geese, guys in trucks, guy in a boat, and- surprise! - fountains!

Finally...a forum to ask...are those fountains intended to disperse algae, or are they ornamental??? Twenty years of (sorta) wondering...

@joe: I've always wondered the same thing! I love the way they look when I'm out for a run around the pond, but I figure they must be serving a more practical purpose, right?
