The migratory patterns of shirts
You know those big bins in parking lots that collect donated clothes (they look like dumpsters)? So, where exactly do those donations go? Good question. The TU's Chris Churchill tried to find out.

Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless and Joseph's House will both take clothing donations and give the clothing directly to the people who need it.

It happens I generally donate my decent clothing to area thrift shops. But I'm not particularly troubled by these bins that may be operated by for-profit ventures. I'd particularly like to find a place that takes worn out, torn, stained clothing and fabrics that can be routed to the rag trade (recycling natural fibers) instead sending my cotton socks with holes and moth eaten wool sweaters to the landfill.
