Red Poppies closing soon

Red Poppies tables 2.jpgRed Poppies -- the Polish pantry and deli on Lark Street -- announced on its
Facebook page today that it will be closing July 1 until further notice. Owner Paul Keblinski tells us part of the problem involves the cost of upgrades to the building (they rent). Red Poppies also operates a stand at the Empire State Plaza on weekdays -- Keblinski says they will try to keep operating that through the end
of the summer. Whether they'll find a new location after that is still up in the air. Earlier: Checking out Red Poppies Polish Pantry on Lark Street

Saw this before. It really sucks. Hopefully they'll be able to find another location in the neighborhood

Come to Troy, our rent isn't as overpriced and our street hobos are only marginally aggressive.

The owner was very kind to me when I stopped in to check it out for my mom who is Polish. My mom said their pierogis were authentic and delicious - never heard her say that about any else's Polish food! Best of luck to them.

The food is delicious, and the people are super nice, so... I hope they find a way to stay, or stay close... :)

The Scoop
