Drawing: Tickets for Build Up

Albany Barn Preview -- Loft of corner apt.jpg

One of the in-construction live/work spaces.

Drawing's closed!

The Albany Barn's Build Up benefit for its conversion of the former St. Joseph's Academy into live/work space for artists is June 28. We have a pair of tickets and we're giving them away. Maybe to you.

To enter the drawing, please answer this question in the comments:

Summer has gotten off to an uneven start here this year (if it's even started at all). So, what sign/event/thing says to you that summer is really here in the Capital Region?

It could be anything. We'll draw one winner at random.

The Albany Barn's Build Up event is in collaboration with the Chefs Consortium. It includes:

+ Gourmet sliders/sandwiches made by Chefs Consortium chefs

+ Beer samplings from Ravens Head Brewing, spirits from Albany Distilling Co., and wine from Harmony House Marketplace.

+ A build-your-own slider contest. (You might recognize a few of the judges for this... OK, one of them is Mary.)

+ Hard-hat tours of the St. Joseph's Academy building, where construction on the live/work spaces is in progress.

+ Art and music.

The event is June 28 from 5-9 pm at the Stage 1 Gallery on North Swan Street. Tickets are $30 each. This event sold out last year.

Important: All comments must be submitted by noon on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 to be entered in the drawing. You must answer the question to be part of the drawing. (Normal commenting guidelines apply.) One entry per person, please. You must enter a valid email address (that you check regularly) with your comment. The winner will be notified via email by noon on Thursday and must respond by noon on Friday, June 21.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
