The summer so far...

summer so far pie chart

In pie chart form.

(Inspired by Ann Friedman's excellent pie charts for The Hairpin.)

Mosquito bites on the FACE from just walking to the car. Something I had not yet chronically experienced.

Put that on a t-shirt and hit the rain locations of Alive at 5, Rockin' the River, etc. You'll be able to retire at "summer's" end.

I'd add a category: "Drinking beer from the inside patio, wishing I was out in the sun doing it :( "

I second @Arielle! Also would like to add drugged sleep due to uncontrollably itchy bug bites

Add: Inability to mow the yard and feeling guilty about 12-inch high grass.

@Jessica R...add having to stop every 6 feet to "declog" the lawn mower from trying to cut the foot high wet grass

After being outside today, I think we'll need to add a pie chart slice labeled "It's too hot."

I feel like the majority of my time is spent whining about mosquito bites. Helpful tip: Benadryl cream is better than straight up cortisone. I'm with Chrissy, a Benadryl pill is a good way to sleep without scratching. I usually wash it down with a nice Shiraz.

Glad I'm not the only one who's been eaten alive all summer.

Cure for swamp butt, if you can handle the brief pain of application: Gold Bond powder. May I help eliminate the curse of swamp butt across the Capital Region!

One big circle that says "everyone complaining about everything." You could re-use it for winter. Jeez people.

Oh, Ethan. The reason we want to love summer so much is "because" of winter.

Can we add "trying to entertain children that desperately want to be outside?" in the Rain/Muggy part?

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?

If winter ever gets its act together and drops more snow on us, there will be sidewalks to shovel. And shortly after that, Albany will... (more)
