A horse of the same color
This NBC News article looks at the efforts of companies and people trying to introduce cloning to the equestrian industry -- polo horses are apparently already being cloned, and there's a law suit that could open the way for quarter horses. If/when cloning horses becomes accepted, thoroughbred racing is likely to be the last holdout -- cloning is currently banned, and the rules don't even allow artificial insemination. But, you knjow, stuff that people regard as wrong and weird often become accepted and normal over time. Flash forward: The 2063 Travers, featuring the clones of 10 previous winners? Or the Nature vs. Nurture Stakes -- a race featuring 10 clones of the same horse? Or Funny Cide II? [via @NViscusi]
