New York Apple chips?

Interesting, if still unconfirmed and rumor-ish: Apple is reportedly looking at buying chip fab capacity from GlobalFoundaries as an alternative to Samsung, which currently makes chips for Apple in Austin. (If Apple and GloFo can work a deal, does that make a second fab in Malta more likely?) [CNET via @NMessier]
