Road closures, detours, parking restrictions in Albany this weekend

A heads up about a couple of road closures this weekend in Albany, downtown and on New Scotland Ave. Details post jump.

From the Albany Police Department:

State and Eagle

The City of Albany will begin the reconstruction of the intersection of State Street and Eagle Street on Friday July 19, 2013. This project will rehabilitate the roadway and sidewalks as well as the traffic signal at this intersection. This project will have many phases over a relatively short eight to 12 week construction timeline. The project will begin with full depth pavement reconstruction that will be completed over the next two weekends. This upcoming weekend the contractor will reconstruct the north (City Hall) side of the intersection. Next weekend the Contractor will construct the south (Dewitt Clinton Hotel) side of the intersection. The following are the closures and detours for this weekend's roadwork:
Road Closures:
+ July 19, 2013 starting at 8PM and continuing around the clock until Monday July 22, 2013 at 6AM Eagle Street from Pine Street to the Center of the State and Eagle Intersection will be CLOSED to ALL TRAFFIC. In addition, State Street westbound from Lodge Street to Eagle Street will be closed to all but emergency traffic and individuals attending church services at St. Peter's Church.
Detour:
A signed detour will be in effect during the closure:
+ Eastbound Washington Avenue traffic will be detoured to eastbound Pine Street then southbound onto Lodge Street back to State Street.
+ Westbound State Street traffic will be detoured onto Lodge Street to Pine Street then westbound on Pine Street to Washington Avenue.
+ Westbound State Street traffic wanting to go south on Eagle Street will have to turn south on Lodge Street to Howard Street, then west on Howard St to Eagle Street.
+ Northbound Eagle Street will be detoured east on State Street to Lodge Street to Pine Street, then west on Pine Street to Washington Avenue.
Weekday Roadwork at State Street & Eagle Street: Monday July 22, 2013 through Friday July 26, 2013 between 9AM and 3PM each day there will be various lane closures and lane shifts throughout the work zone. Motorists are advised to be alert in this area as delays are possible.
State Street between Henry Johnson Boulevard and Willett Street will be closed to all traffic Saturday July 20, 2013 between the hours of 7AM and 4PM to allow for crane and support vehicles working in this block. In addition, parking will be restricted on both sides of State Street between Henry Johnson Boulevard and Willett Street on July 20, 2013 between 7AM and 4PM for this work.
First Street between Lark Street and N. Swan Street will be closed to all traffic Saturday July 20, 2013 between the hours of 10AM-4PM for event vehicles (Veteran's Home Event). Parking will be restricted on First street, south side between Henry Johnson Boulevard and Lark Street AND First Street, both sides between Lark Street and N. Swan Street.

New Scotland Ave at Albany Med

Albany Medical Center's contractor will be milling and paving New Scotland Avenue from Holland Avenue to Myrtle Avenue starting Friday July 19, 2013 at 7PM and will continue around the clock until Sunday July 21, 2013 at 8PM. This work will require a closure of New Scotland Avenue between Holland Avenue and Myrtle Avenue for this time period. In addition parking will be restricted on both sides of New Scotland Avenue between Holland Avenue and Myrtle Avenue. Local detours will be set up to guide traffic around this closure. Emergency vehicles, directed by flagmen, will have access through the work zone and closure at all times. Albany Medical Center Emergency Room access will be maintained at all times.
