Cirkopolis

The contemporary circus troupe Cirque Éloize opens a three-week run of its show "Cirkopolis" at Proctors on Wednesday. Blurbage:

Performing within an inventive stage design and accompanied by an original musical score and video projections, twelve acrobats and multidisciplinary artists rebel against monotony, reinvent themselves and challenge the limits of the factory-city. In a world where fantasy provokes reality, the veil of anonymity and solitude is lifted and replaced by bursts of color.

There are performances Wednesday-Sunday. Tickets are $20 and up.

The Philadelphia Orchestra opens its annual season at SPAC this Wednesday -- it runs through August 24. Among the highlights this week:

Real talk about summer

It's now August (really). You know all those things you wanted to do this summer? Do them. Now. Because summer will be over soon. Head to that swimming spot. Pick blueberries. Eat some corn on the cob. Grill something. Skip out of work early on Friday. Whatever, do it now.

These are a just a few things for this week. Know of something people should be looking forward to this week? Please share!
