Re-retailing the Frear Building
The first floor of the Frear Building in Troy is being turned back into retail space, the Times Union's Eric Anderson reports. The three new retail tenants slated to take the space in October: a mid-century modern furniture store, an antiques store, and the recycled materials clothing company ekologic. (As you know, the Frear Building was once a department store. If you've never seen the staircase inside, it's worth a stop to gawk.)

I'm very excited about this news! I have always thought the stairway, atrium and balconies would be a great space for a wedding reception and other formal events. Just putting that thought out there in case someone from the events industry is reading and gets inspired!
