Update: OK, so Greg screwed up the days/dates for the deadline to enter this drawing, so we're going to hold it open an additional 24 hours just so everyone has a chance to enter in case they were confused.

The Altamont Craft Beer Fest is coming up September 7 at the Altamont Fairgrounds. More than 40 breweries offering 100 varieties of beer are slated to be there offering samples (partial list). We have a pair of tickets and we're giving them away -- maybe to you.

We'll draw one winner at random. Totally non-redeemable bonus points for local and/or specific answers.

The Altamont Craft Beer Fest is Saturday, September 7 from 2-8 pm at the fairgrounds in Altamont. Tickets are $35 ahead / $45 at the gate. Designated drivers get in free. It is a 21 and over event.

In addition to the beer, there will also be live music and food available.

Fall is the perfect time to start having soups again!

I have two- I love pumpkin coffee and I love pumpkin beer! The only good thing about summer ending is pumpkin beverages coming back!

I look forward to apple baked goods...especially dutch apple pie and apple crisp. Plus- I love Oktoberfest beers.

Mulled wine or warm apple cider. Keeps you nice and toasty.

Southern Tier Pumking beer. It's my favorite pumpkin ale.

A warm apple cider donut from Indian Ladder Farms, with some fresh apple cider. Or a pumpkin beer and my new favorite, the apple cider crodo.

A black and tan using some Irish stout and a pumpkin beer. I prefer Shipyard's Blue Fin Stout as the black with Shipyard's Pumpkinhead Ale as the tan. Yum!

An apple, fresh off the tree at Indian Ladder Farms, with a cider doughnut chaser. Once I've put that combo away, it's officially fall for me.

Buffalo wings. Also my favorite winter, spring, and summer food. In the fall they go good with a sam octoberfest.

Anything pumpkin - I love pumpkin pie, and I am also one of those insufferable people who freak out when the Pumpkin Spice Lattes become available at Dunkin/Starbucks.

The first bit of chill that brings color to the leaves makes me feel compelled to make chili.

Mulled cider, cider donuts fresh out of the fryer, maple butternut squash, potato leak soup... It's all good! Time to start putting on that winter weight.

My favorite autumn food: Homemade apple pies made with a blend of 8 to 10 kinds of apples including northern spy, sweet golden delicious, tart granny smith, wipesap, and whatever other local flavors are available. I also add a couple tablespoons each of blueberries, raspberries, and cranberries.

Hot spiced apple cider, my dad's secret recipe, enriched by me with a little tot of spiced rum!

Fall is when the next batch of mead is released from The Heldeberg Meadworks. Mead is the first alcoholic beverage ever and is essentially a honey wine. It drinks kind of like a dessert wine or a port - and it has replaced Port for me!
