Waterford man with 51 arrests picked up for allegedly promoting prostitution, Ellis/Sheehan face off in forum, Manory's celebrates 100 years

Police have arrested a Waterford man -- with 51 previous arrests and seven convictions -- for allegedly promoting prostitution. Kevin Gervasio allegedly advertised a prostitute on a website. Gervasio -- who once testified against his mother when the pair was charged with scamming seniors at a grocery store -- and the alleged prostitute were arrested when police answered the ad and arranged to meet the woman. The suspect in the recent Slingerlands Trustco bank robbery was picked up by police in South Carolina on Wednesday. [TU]

The Albany man charged with sexually abusing a young boy in a bathroom at the New York State Museum in June, while the child's mother was waiting for him outside the door, pled guilty on Wednesday and could face up to four years in prison. [WNYT]

The first of six row of houses near the site of the former St. Patrick's in Watervliet -- which were purchased for over $1 million -- was torn down Wednesday to make way for a Price Chopper supermarket slated for the site. [TU]

An Albany man was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for repeatedly raping a young girl who was later diagnosed with herpes. At the sentencing, the prosecutor told the court that the defendant robbed the girl of a normal childhood, saying "She should be a carefree and happy little girl and she's not.
