Today's moment of late summer

We spotted this guy in the backyard earlier this week -- he was just hanging out among the tomatoes as the sun set.

For whatever reason, we've noticed more grasshoppers this summer. Maybe that's a result of there actually being more grasshoppers, or just a matter of us spotting more of them. (What if all this time the world was full of grasshoppers and we just weren't looking?) Or maybe we're just seeing the same three guys over and over again.

In related a thought, we kind of wish that grasshoppers were also called katydidnts. (Rimshot! Thank you, thank you, we'll be here all week.)
