Drue pleads guilty in fatal Northway crash
Dennis Drue, accused of causing the Northway crash last December that killed two teens and seriously injured two others, pleaded guilty to 58 counts against him today. As part of the plea, he faces 5-15 years in prison, but Saratoga County DA Jim Murphy said his office would be pushing for a longer sentence. Murphy said in a press conference that evidence indicated Drue had been drinking before the crash, had pot in his system, and had been texting while speeding. Drue's attorney had attempted to get the trial moved out of Saratoga County because of the intense media attention on the case, but the motion was denied. Today Drue's attorney said going to trial in the county would have been "very difficult." [TU] [@JimMurphyIII] [YNN] [Saratoga County DA] [YNN]
