"We were constantly told the sorority was special, that it was a privilege. And it is. To this day, I absolutely believe it is. That being said, I know now that I was being totally mindf-----."
An article on Cosmo's website by Union alum Tess Koman about her experience pledging a sorority at the school -- "at once one of the best and worst decisions I've ever made" -- has prompted Union to put the sorority's current pledging on hold while it looks into whether hazing is part of the process. Also: the Schenectady police on whether what's described in the article rises to the level of a crime ("It's not illegal to shine a spotlight in their face and tell them they're not cute."). I believe the worst of that article. I was horrified by Union's frat culture when I visited there as a prospective student.
