Photos from The Historic Bad Boys, Broads and Bootleggers Tour 2
Thanks to everyone who came along the replayed/remixed Historic Bad Boys, Broads and Bootleggers Tour on Saturday. It was a lot of fun again, and we were able to mix in a few new things. A bunch of photos are after the jump.
Other ideas? We won't be running this tour again, at least not anytime soon. But we really like these sorts of events, and we get the impression you do, too. So... if you have ideas for other stuff like this you might like to see AOA work to get together, please let us know. We can't guarantee anything, but we're always open to suggestions.
Many thanks to Duncan Crary and Harmony House Tour's Paul Nooney for serving as tour guides on the trip.
And thank you also to Erin Pihlaja for taking photos on the tour and sharing them with us! We appreciate it!. A bunch of the photos below are from her (and are marked as such).
People lined up before the tour.
Instead of trolleys this time around, we were on party buses. One of the buses had poles and multi-colored interior lights.

This event totally rocked! The highlight was the insider's view about Albany and Troy history that Duncan is able to provide. I could tell that he really has a passion for sharing local stories. Perfect tour guide!

I'm really disappointed there won't be more of these tours, I had no idea about and it is right up my alley; please do it again! Albany/Troy has such a rich "bad" history, we would never run out of material!

It's too bad that something like this can't be a regular thing. With all of this talk about an Aquarium, you would assume someone would open a tour company around here. We get quite a bit of tourism (I work for AAA, so I see a lot of it) and people love this stuff.

The tour was fantastic. What a great way to showcase local businesses in Troy and Albany not to mention the seedy, fascinating underworld that once was. :) I've recently moved back to Albany and this was a great way to be re-introduced to the social scene. I, for one, will become a patron of several the establishments involved.
Thanks AOA for an awesome Saturday afternoon! Please do more tours!
