Halloween parties/costume contests?

great pumpkin charlie brown stillChristine emails:

My partner and I are wondering if you've gotten word of any hip, non 20-year-old slutty-version of Halloween costume contests and/or parties (charitable or otherwise) in the Albany area? Any help is greatly appreciated!

There's usually a Halloween party at the Washington Park Lakehouse, though we haven't seen any details about that this year (if you know what's up, please share).

Have a suggestion or idea for Christine? Please share!

Update: Details about this year's Washington Park Lakehouse Halloween party floated our way after we posted this question. The party is October 26 from 9 pm-1 am. Tickets are $25 ahead, $50 at the door -- advance tickets available at the Pearl Street Pub and the Barrel Saloon. The party is open bar (as well as 21+) and "costumes mandatory."

Last year I won some cash over at Footsie Magoos in downtown Troy... and no, I wasn't dressed up as a slut. They will most likely have live music again this year- that's where I'll be! Always a ton of fun there (and they have Skeeball and Pacman!)

There's a Halloween Bash at Vapor Night Club on Saturday the 26th. Vapor is usually a little older crowd so I expect the same for Halloween. I've also been looking for news on the lake house event with nothing found :(

Just found this, although there is a prize for "sexiest" so not sure if it fits in with your criteria.

If you feel like making the drive up to Saratoga, Javier's (Maple Ave) is having a costume party on October 26. I don't know if there is any charity affiliation, but it'll be a HECK of a party and definitely a more, um, astute crowd.

Party at the Washington Park Lakehouse on October 26! Fundraiser for the Albany barn.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
