A "cultural spa"

Over the weekend NYT had an article about plans for the Marina Abramovic Institute in Hudson -- it includes a few new details, but also looks what's apparently a simmering backlash to Abramovic's fame and skepticism of the multi million dollar project. (Also: If you're looking to write a mockumentary about performance art, this article includes enough characters with which to get started.) Earlier: A handful of items about the Marina Abramovic Institute

Hahaha, the strikethrough on the '61' didn't work, but you get the idea. (I'm actually surprised the comment made it through the spam filter at all ;)

Every time I hear about this I think about her claiming to be the grandmother of performance art. Hate to tell her but any legit claim to be part of the pioneers of performing art better involve Judson Church....which to the best of my knowledge Abramovic's CV does not.
