Over the weekend NYT had an article about plans for the Marina Abramovic Institute in Hudson -- it includes a few new details, but also looks what's apparently a simmering backlash to Abramovic's fame and skepticism of the multi million dollar project. Every time I hear about this I think about her claiming to be the grandmother of performance art. Hate to tell her but any legit claim to be part of the pioneers of performing art better involve Judson Church....which to the best of my knowledge Abramovic's CV does not.
