Not a level playing field
A while back we were walking through Albany's Westland Hills Park and its baseball complex when the thought occurred to us: "Where are all the soccer fields for kids in Albany?" Given how popular the game is now, there had to be fields somewhere, right? But we couldn't remember seeing any. The answer comes via an article this week in Metroland, in which Albany High School's varsity coach tells (soccer dad) Stephen Leon: "Come into Albany and find me a grass field that's playable, anywhere." Even without a decent field, AHS beat #1 seed Shen Thursday night in Colonie to advance to the sectional final against Guilderland next week. [Metroland] [TU]
Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
