The "hidden" non-profit
Over the weekend in the Gazette there was an article about Things of My Very Own, a Schenectady-based org that doesn't get much public attention even though it provides emergency assistance to as many as 6,000 kids each year over a 12 county area. (We'd never heard of it, either.) The org provides emergency supplies, such as clothes or bedding, to kids taken out of an at-risk situations. [Daily Gazette]

Thank you so much for sharing this article. The stories Boncie told are heartbreaking. I applaud her for her work, especially the J. McGrath Library and Resource Center.
